CRA Waterloo Thanksgiving Food Drive

The CRA Waterloo offices held their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Waterloo Region Food Bank between October 1, 2007, and October 12, 2007.  Employees from the 6 area offices donated 5,000 pounds of food and raised $11,000.  Employees also donated their time to help prepare food, serve lunches, and clean up after meals at St. John's Soup Kitchen.

Cash bids were made for Shareholders and Associates from Waterloo to compete in a Sumo Wrestling Tournament.  The Shareholders and Associates who received the highest five bids wore huge Sumo suits while they "wrestled."  The CRA Sumo Wrestler title holder for 2007 was Steve Quigley.

The Waterloo Region Food Bank helps more than 25,000 individuals in the region each year, with 47% or those being children under the age of 18.  For every dollar that is donated, the Food Bank is able to purchase $8 worth of emergency food.
