CRA has extensive odor assessment and abatement capabilities.  CRA's odor services can assist industrial, agricultural, and municipal clients assess, manage, and control their potentially odiferous sources.

Identification of Odiferous Sources

• Odor panel evaluation using AC'SCENT® International Olfactometer capable of:
  • Triangular Forced Choice
  • Yes/No
  • Binary Forced Choice
• Compliant with Ontario Ministry of the Environment guidelines, American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E679-04 standard, and the operational requirements of the European Standard, EN13725:2003.
• Dispersion modeling using U.S. EPA Screen3, ISCST3, and
• Impact Assessment
• Field Odor Monitoring using the Nasal Ranger® field Olfactometer  

 

Engineering Feasibility Studies

• Evaluate selected technologies to control odor from primary sources
• Estimate capital, installation, and operating costs
• Incorporate ventilation design for fans and ducting
• Assess by-product disposal
• Study new facility or retrofit existing process equipment

 

On-Site Pilot Testing

• Determine odor control efficiency of selected control technology
• Source testing at inlet and outlet of pilot scale unit with actual emissions from odor source
