Brownfield Redevelopment Services

Conestoga-Rovers & Associates (CRA) has been effectively performing "Brownfield Redevelopment" since before the term Brownfield was defined. The Love Canal project in Niagara Falls, New York in the late 1970s is often considered the initial catalyst in the evolution of what has become today΄s Brownfield programs, and CRA was, and remains, the environmental consultant on that project.

CRA has been involved in responsive and cost-effective remediation of hundreds of under-utilized industrial and/ or commercial properties across North America. Very often beneficial new end-uses have been an important element in the development of an effective remedial solution. Examples include turning a huge automotive manufacturing complex into an industrial business park in Detroit, a chemical manufacturing plant in Indiana into a shopping mall, and an aluminum foundry in Toronto into a "big box" store.

CRA is creative in the sharing of the costs, rewards, and benefits of a redevelopment project and is a member of the National Brownfield Association (NBA). CRA staff serve in the leadership of NBA Chapters.
