Coatings Inspection
Over the last 50 years, corrosion prevention and control have become increasing sources of concern in every industry. CRA has performed coating inspections for many years on various structures including bridges, offices towers, and other multi-story buildings, warehouses, tanks and pipelines, and others. This has allowed CRA to build a reputable and experienced team of coating inspectors.
The inspection work is supervised by a Level III NACE International coating certified inspector. Our site crew is composed of Levels I and II certified NACE International coating inspectors.
Inspection Services
- Shop and site inspection including verification of surface preparation, anchor profile, wet film thickness, dry film thickness, and application condition (dew point)
- Adhesion and hardness testing of coatings
- Detection of moisture levels in concrete for paint applications on the substrate
- Surface testing before coating applications including PH, ferrous soluble salt, ferrous ions, chloride ions, sulfates, and nitrates
Expertise Services
- Preparation of specifications for surface preparation and coatings
- Expertise on steel corrosion and coatings failure
- Evaluation of surface preparation and individual layer dry film thickness evaluations within existing multi-layer coatings systems
