Occupational Exposure Assessments
CRA performs several types of occupational exposure assessments and evaluations for chemical/toxic substances and noise.
Occupational airborne sampling evaluations are conducted to assess and document potential employee exposures to chemical/toxic substances found in the workplace. These substances may include lead, asbestos, solvents, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), formaldehyde, isocyanates, bioaerosols, and radioactive materials. Evaluations are also used to determine the need for engineering controls and guide the design, installation, and final operation of these controls.
CRA conducts these evaluations in accordance with current industrial hygiene sampling methods using an AIHA accredited laboratory for analysis. CRA's industrial hygiene specialists can conduct air sampling evaluations to determine compliance with established standards and make recommendations for engineering controls or modifications.
Noise Studies and Assessments
CRA can conduct facility-specific noise surveys/measurements using sound level instruments and noise dosimetry devices to determine sources and areas with high noise levels. CRA uses contour mapping to identify areas where proper protection, engineering controls, and hearing conservation training are required.
