First Nations
First Nations and Aboriginal peoples are recognized as an important group related to the consultation requirements under the Class EA process. The City of Owen Sound acknowledges the importance of traditional environmental knowledge in the decision-making process and is engaging the First Nations communities through an information sharing process at various stages during the project.
